Best Photo Spots in Matera: Most Beautiful Viewpoints

Bold statement: after Rome, Matera might be my favourite place on earth. For me, the city feels like pure magic, and it also happens to have some of the most beautiful viewpoints I have ever seen.

The first time I visited Matera was in February 2024, when I took an eight hour FlixBus from Rome to Matera, and it was one of my first blog articles ever. While I still have PTSD from that FlixBus trip (which was not FlixBus its fault, more like my own, because my entire container of meal prepped pasta was swimming around at the bottom of my bag, yes with red sauce) I have amazing memories from that solo trip, and I could not wait to go back. This time around I was with my family, but I still had that same magical feeling I had during my first visit.

Since I had been before, I took my family to all my favourite viewpoints in Matera, the ones where you get the best views of the ancient Sassi from different corners and angles. And since I am not one to gatekeep, I thought it would be nice to share these spots so you know exactly where to go for the most beautiful views in Matera.

Top Things to See in Lecce: Why You Should Visit This Beautiful Town in Puglia

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that at the beginning of November I went on a week-long trip to Puglia, a region in the south of Italy. I was there with my family, so no solo trip this time (very unusual for me), and I had a wonderful vacation filled with beautiful towns, nature, and amazing food.
One of my favourite towns we visited in Puglia is Lecce, a city that is more than two thousand years old and famous for its rich baroque architecture. In this blog post, I will tell you what to see in Lecce, so I can hopefully convince you to put this beautiful town on your Puglia itinerary.

There was something about it that felt very fairytale-esque, which is right up my alley. I was only in Turin for two days, but in this post, I'll share my top things to see and do in the city. I hope this post inspires you to plan your own trip or, if you’ve already been to Turin, to share your favourite spots in the comments below!

The Best Gluten-Free and Lactose-Free Bakeries in Milan

As someone with food allergies and intolerances, finding sweet treats I can safely enjoy, especially pastries, can be a real challenge while on vacation. While I do not have celiac disease myself, I understand how difficult it can be to find delicious and safe options.

I already knew that Rome is a fantastic destination for gluten free and lactose free bakeries, but I was curious to see if Milan could measure up. After plenty of research ( aka me eating gluten free cookies) , I am happy to report that it absolutely does.

In this post, I will share my favourite gluten free bakeries in Milan where you can indulge in allergen friendly Italian classics like cornetti, cannoli, and biscotti without worry.

One Day in Milan: Top Things to See and Do for a Perfect Day Trip

After my successful trips last year to Matera, Bologna, and Florence, I decided to plan another adventure this February. This time, I ventured further up north to explore Milan, Turin, Genova, and Pisa. While not every city was a success (I’ll probably talk about that in a future post!), I had a wonderful time in Milan, which is a totally different city than Rome.

In this post, I’ll share my favourite things to do and see in Milan in just one day, hoping to inspire your own visit to this city!
