Best Acai Bowls in Rome
I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been spending more time with Brazilian people lately, but my latest food obsession is the acai bowl.
An acai bowl is a thick smoothie bowl made with frozen acai pulp or puree, typically topped with fruit, granola, and other delicious ingredients. I always claimed not to be much of a smoothie bowl person, but especially in summer, these cold acai bowls have really won me over.
Acai berries are native to the Amazon region of Brazil and are known to be a superfood. So, if you’re looking for a refreshing breakfast, lunch, or snack while in Rome, I know just the places to go for the best acai bowls in the city.
Yummy Superfood Café
First on the list is Yummy Superfood Café. If you’re familiar with my blog, you might know that I’ve written about this place before, namely in my article about where to find the best matcha in Rome.
The owner is very passionate about the quality of her products, and at Yummy, you can always count on leaving feeling fueled by great ingredients. The acai bowl here tastes really fresh, and the portion is generous. There isn’t that much space to sit down, but you can also order takeaway if you prefer.
Oakberry Acai
Next on the list is Oakberry Acai, which has two locations in Rome. One is close to Piazza del Popolo and Flaminio metro station, while the other is closer to the Vatican, in the Prati neighborhood.
Personally, I went to the much smaller location in Prati, and I’m sort of regretting that. Not because the acai was bad in any way, but because the other location has a 5-star rating on Google, based on 323 reviews so far. Pretty impressive, if you ask me.
Since I went to the smaller, hole-in-the-wall location in Prati, there isn’t really a comfortable place to sit, but it’s perfect for takeaway. The staff is friendly, and I would say that Oakberry offers the most choices of all the spots on this list when it comes to sizes, toppings, and more. You can really customize your bowl.
I took my delicious acai to Piazza Cavour, one of the most beautiful squares in Rome, in my opinion, and enjoyed it on a bench. If you want to read all about beautiful green spaces in the center of Rome where you can relax, feel free to check out my latest article!
Very Acai – a friendly place
Staying in Prati, we’re heading to Very Acai, a cute spot where you have to descend a couple of steps to enter. At Very Acai, it’s easiest to order using the QR code, so the team can get started on your order straight away.
The bowls at Very Acai are very generous, and I think this was my favorite granola out of all the places I tried. There are a couple of tables and chairs outside, so if you’re lucky, you can enjoy your acai here in the sun.
Escosazio
Last but not least, we have Escosazio, and when it comes to the interior, this spot is my favorite. The moment you step inside, it feels cosy, and I can easily see myself spending hours here. Last time, I took my acai bowl to go, so it might look a little less aesthetic in the photos, but I promise you it was just as delicious.
Worth mentioning is that the staff at Escosazio are very sweet, and you can tell they prepare everything with loads of love and an eye for detail. Besides acai, they offer plenty of other things, such as juices and salads. If you're in the mood for healthy, organic food, I can definitely recommend stopping by.
Conclusion
I hope this blog article was helpful in finding the perfect acai spot in Rome. All of these bowls are delicious, nutritious, and prepared with lots of attention and care. If I missed your favorite acai spot in Rome, please let me know in the comments, as I’m always open to new inspiration.
See you soon, my loves,
