Best Cinemas in Rome for English Movies: Cinema Barberini, Troisi and More
Since it’s autumn in Rome, the weather is getting colder (at least for Italian standards), and I’m slowly getting into my sweater vibes. Think baking cookies, drinking more tea, and of course, watching movies. One of my favourite things to do, alone or with friends, is going to the cinema. There’s just something about stepping into a cozy room for two hours, completely disconnected from the rest of the world, snacks in hand.
In Rome, and in Italy in general, most cinema movies are dubbed into Italian, which makes them quite hard to follow if you’re a tourist, expat, or international student. In this blog post, I’ll tell you all about the cinemas in Rome that show movies in V.O.S. (versione originale). This way you can enjoy the best cinemas in Rome while watching your favourite movies in English.
Top 4 English-Speaking Hairdressers in Rome (2026)
While my Italian is now probably good enough that I will not leave a salon with blue hair or a random bob, this was definitely not the case when I first moved to Rome as an international student. Back then I spent a lot of time Googling English-speaking hairdressers in Rome hoping to find someone who could understand exactly what I wanted.
I thought it would be fun to share the four English speaking hairdressers in Rome that I have tried so far and truly loved. They are all talented, friendly, and kind of affordable which was important for me as a student. There are of course many more salons out there, but these are the ones that worked for me and always left me feeling great about my hair.
Where to Find English Books in Rome: 4 Must-Visit Bookstores
I must admit, when it comes to the number of books I read each year, I feel like I might have peaked. In 2023, I read 43 books. In 2024, that number dropped to 17, and so far in 2025, I have only read 5. It’s not that I enjoy reading any less. I have simply spent more time on other hobbies lately, which has left me with a rather sad-looking Goodreads page.
However, it is my goal to start reading more again, so I thought this would be the perfect moment to share my favourite English-language bookshops in Rome. When I first moved to Rome, I was a little afraid I wouldn't find bookstores with a good selection of English books, but over time I found some great spots. If you're in Rome and looking for English books, here are the shops I recommend.
