Yes my loves, I am back. After weeks of studying in my room and slowly melting away in temperatures of 39 degrees, I made it out of my exam period and I have time to write again, and no, not just for a university essay. Since summer officially arrived in Rome, one of my favourite things to do is visit the beach and go for a dive. I already wrote an article once about how to get to Ostia and enjoy the beach there, but for this blog post I ventured a little further away. By train you can easily reach some stunning beaches around Rome that are quieter, have clearer water, and are also very budget friendly. In this article, I’ll share my five favourite spots for a dive, the places I try to visit as often as possible.
Is Monti worth visiting on your trip to Rome?
A while ago, I was talking to one of my close friends in Rome, and she told me that her favourite neighbourhood in the city was none other than Monti. And maybe it was the fact that I can be introverted, but my first thought was: Why? There are so many people in Monti. I just couldn’t grasp the fact that of all the neighbourhoods in Rome, she would pick Monti as her favourite.
However, over the past few months, I’ve been taking Italian classes in this area (I’m now the proud owner of an A1/A2 Italian certificate), and as a result, I’ve spent a great deal of time in the Monti neighbourhood. And I must admit, I really grew to love this part of Rome.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a travel guide without mentioning that I love a good viewpoint. I just love the idea of working hard for something—climbing a lot of stairs or hiking a steep mountain—and then being rewarded with a stunning view you can’t get anywhere else. It’s always the best place to read, eat a self-brought squished sandwich, or marvel at how romantic it all is (even if you’re single like me lol).
