Laptop-friendly cafés in Pigneto, Rome for studying and remote work

Cozy café interior in Pigneto for remote work

As a blogger and a student currently writing my bachelor thesis, I could probably call myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to laptop-friendly cafés in Rome where you can study, work, or read in peace. I have already written an article about such cafés in Rome, but this time the location is a little more specific, namely one of my favourite neighborhoods in Rome: Pigneto.

To me, this creative neighborhood is a great place to be if you want to get inspired or, of course, productive. In this article, I will tell you all about my three favourite spots for remote work, studying, or reading in Pigneto.

If you would love to discover more cafés like these in the future, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter, as I’m planning on creating similar guides for different neighborhoods in Rome.

Zazie nel Metrò

A real staple when it comes to remote work or studying in Pigneto is Zazie nel Metrò. Located on Via Ettore Giovenale 16, the café is named after a book with the same title. I have to say, it is hard to find a more authentic café in Rome.

The vibe, as you can probably tell from the pictures, is a little alternative, creative, and overall very Pigneto. They serve great coffee and food if you need some fuel while working or studying. During the day, Zazie nel Metrò is often filled with local students working on their laptops, so it can get quite busy. However, if you arrive a little earlier, it should not be difficult to find a spot.

Zazie nel Metrò is open on Mondays from 08:00 to 15:00 and from 18:30 to midnight, from Tuesday to Friday from 08:00 to midnight, and on weekends from 09:00 to midnight. While it is the perfect place for studying during the day, they often host live music and other events at night. So if you want to wind down after a productive day, you could honestly spend the entire day here.

Fax Factory

Only two steps away from Zazie nel Metrò, you can find Fax Factory, honestly my favourite place in Pigneto to get coffee. While it calls itself a café for specialty coffee and an art gallery, they also offer free wifi that actually works really well, and they have smart working stations.

Fax Factory is a little smaller than the other cafés on this list, so on busy days you need to get a little lucky, but if you arrive at the right time there is also a chance of almost having the place to yourself.

Besides great coffee, Fax Factory also has both savoury and sweet food options. Last time I was there I also spotted some vegan sweets, which is always appreciated.

Fax Factory is located on Via Antonio Raimondi 87 and is open every day from 08:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays from 09:00 to 13:00.

The Forum: Bistrot & Coworking

Last but not least is The Forum, located on the main street of Pigneto. While the other two cafés I mentioned earlier have more of that alternative, trendy Pigneto feel, this café feels a little more formal. Because of that, it is maybe more suited to people who concentrate better in a quieter and slightly more structured environment, while still feeling cozy.

What I love about The Forum is that the whole place just feels very efficient, with lots of power outlets to charge everything, which always makes me feel very productive. The Forum also has an extensive menu, so it is perfect if you want to combine your work or study session with some snacks.

The Forum is located on Piazza del Pigneto 8a and is open every day from 06:00 until 22:00.
